The session will give an overview of the relevant law and provide practical, up-to-date guidance on key areas of challenge to local housing authority allocation policies.
Tina will provide analysis of topical challenges including the statutory requirements in the Housing Act 1996, discrimination under the Equality Act 2010 and human rights.
The course will also focus on recent High Court decisions including R (Flores) v Southwark LBC, R (Nur) v Birmingham CC and Khayyat v Westminster CC [2023] EWHC 30.
