Profile
Taylor Blair has experience in Property, Commercial, Insolvency, and Employment and is developing a busy practice in these areas. She appears regularly in the County Court, High Court, First Tier Property Tribunal and the Employment Tribunal.
Taylor is on the Government Junior Junior Scheme and has been involved in claims acting for HMRC and the MOD. Her work has included drafting witness statements, conducting research and acting as a junior to Millie Polimac on a 10-day race discrimination and whistleblowing trial.
Taylor has expanded her practice by volunteering as a housing supervisor at the Tower Hamlets Community Law Centre’s drop-in clinic, as well as the Bankruptcy Representation Scheme. She has been recognised on the Pro Bono Recognition List annually since joining Chambers.
Prior to commencing Pupillage, Taylor worked as a Relationship Manager at a CSR charity where she supported FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 organisations with their CSR aims. She also volunteered with Hackney Community Law Centre as a housing and employment caseworker.

Property
Taylor is building a practice in all areas of Property Law and in Chambers’ social housing specialism.
Taylor has experience conducting:
- Possession proceedings, from first possession hearings up to and including trial, on all grounds for public and private landlords. This includes possessions which raise matters of succession, public law, Equality Act defences, shared ownership possessions, disrepair and capacity;
- Anti-social behaviour injunctions and access injunctions;
- Committal applications;
- Directions and application hearings, including summary judgment, strike out and set-aside applications;
- Mortgage possessions;
- Forfeiture proceedings;
- Permission to appeal hearings;
- First Tier Property Tribunal hearings and mediations;
- Environmental Protection Act hearings in the Magistrates Court; and
- Acting as a junior to Sam Phillips in a High Court appeal on judicial interpretation of orders.
Taylor is also confident drafting pleadings, applications and advices for all areas of real property and social housing.
Commercial
Taylor is building a practice in all areas of Commercial Law, including bankruptcy and insolvency and commercial disputes.
Taylor has experience in the following:
- Bankruptcy proceedings, acting for the Petition Creditor, Supporting Creditor(s) and Debtors. Her experience includes volunteering on the Bankruptcy Representation Scheme and defending petitions in the High Court;
- Winding-up petitions;
- Statutory demands, including setting aside statutory demands;
- Administration orders and extensions;
- Contractual disputes up to and including trial (in particular for school fees and estate agents fees); and
- Drafting commercial advice.
Employment
Taylor has experience acting for both the Claimant and Respondent in employment claims and has experience in:
- Drafting ET1 and grounds of claim, as well as ET3 and grounds of resistance;
- Drafting witness statements;
- Providing employment advice; and
- Acting in the Employment Tribunal at preliminary hearings and trial.
Taylor is on the Government Junior Junior Scheme and has been involved in several cases, including:
- Junior to Millie Polimac on a race discrimination and whistleblowing 10-day trial, reported here.
- Drafting witness statements in race and age discrimination matters, considering both direct and indirect discrimination as well as harassment and victimisation.
- Researching discrimination matters in recruitment.
Taylor has gained previous employment experience through supporting the Hackney Community Law Centre weekly employment drop-in session, which involved supporting individuals at the employment tribunal.
