Facebook posts of the Grenfell Tower burning effigy or Danny Baker’s photo announcing a Royal birth are acts which impact significantly on the employment relationship. Internet usage in work, but more commonly away from work, are issues for which employers must maintain well thought out legal strategies. This seminar considers the delicate balancing exercise between the right to a private life and to what extent the employer is responsible for internet conduct by an employee particularly when it affects both internal relations with other employees and the public reputation of the employer.
