Acting for both landlords (local authorities, RSLs, private individuals and companies) and tenants she brings a wealth of experience and a balanced viewpoint. Joanna also has experience representing clients at ADR.

Joanna has particular expertise in residential landlord and tenant, including:
- Anti-social behaviour (including ASBIs and ASBOs in both the Magistrates and County Courts);
- Possession proceedings;
- Disability discrimination; and
- Service charge disputes.
Joanna’s practice also encompasses commercial landlord and tenant, including forfeiture, covenants and dilapidations.
Joanna also has experience in real property matters, including easements (rights of way etc.), covenants, adverse possession, and mortgages.
Joanna sits as a part time Judge of the Property Chamber [The First Tier Tribunal Property Chamber (Residential Property)], having previously been a chair of the Residential Property Tribunal Service.
She has also been appointed by the Lord Chancellor as a Part time Judge of the First Tier Tribunal, assigned to the Social Entitlement Chamber to exercise Social Security and Child Support jurisdiction and has further been appointed as a Judge of The Court of Protection exercising the Re X (deprivation of liberty) jurisdiction.
